ECITB Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment

Course Information

The objective of this vocational qualification is to provide recognition that a learner has demonstrated the required level of technical competence to be qualified to work on engineering construction structures, plant and equipment in one of the following disciplines (pathways):

  • Erecting

  • Rigging

The learner is required to select ONE pathway ONLY when registering for the qualification.

NVQ Level 3 Award in the Inspection and Testing of Fire Stopping Installations
Candidates are measured against the learning outcomes using a range of assessment methods:
  • Online Knowledge Tests: Supervised multiple-choice and short-answer exams provided by the ECITB Awarding Organisation
  • Observed Practical Assessments: Hands-on evaluations carried out in a real work environment or under approved simulated conditions to confirm practical application of knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Evidence Portfolio: A collection of supporting documents compiled by the Approved Centre to demonstrate achievement across all required units.
  • Final Technical Interview: A recorded discussion with an ECITB assessor to validate that all learning objectives have been achieved.
