A Week of Firsts for Skills Solutions Group

The team held its first half-yearly Assessor Standardisation Meeting, installed the first official Skills Solutions Group office signage and successfully completed its first External Quality Assurance inspection with the awarding body.

Individually, they may be very different milestones. Together, they represent some of the foundations behind delivering consistent, high-quality training and assessment.

The first half-yearly Assessor Standardisation Meeting brought the assessment team together with a clear focus on consistency, quality and shared standards.

Standardisation plays an important role in ensuring learners are assessed consistently and that assessors have a common understanding of the standards expected across the qualifications they deliver.

For Skills Solutions Group, maintaining this consistency is particularly important across a nationwide assessment model, where learners can complete recognised NVQ qualifications while demonstrating their competence within the workplace.

The week also brought another significant achievement with the successful completion of Skills Solutions Group’s first External Quality Assurance inspection with its awarding body.

External quality assurance provides independent oversight of assessment and quality processes. Successfully completing this first inspection represents an important milestone as SSG continues to develop its qualification delivery while maintaining the standards expected of an approved training provider.
