Accessor’s Qualification Certificate

Course Information

The assessor suite of qualifications provides nationally recognised qualifications for candidates whose role involves assessing competence-based units or qualifications:

  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment

  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement

  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the unit.

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. Assessment guidance is included to ensure consistency. Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Evidence can include:

  • Supporting documents such as RAMS and inductions
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Video-based evidence
  • Professional discussion
  • Witness testimony

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification required, although must be competent in existing role.
Candidates who achieve the requirements for qualifications will be awarded:

  • A certificate listing the unit achieved, and
  • A certificate giving the full qualification title

On average, these higher-level NVQs take around 4–8 weeks to complete, focusing more on the candidate’s input than the number of site visits.
